Windows Vista Sony Vaio Brightness Problems
I have just upgraded to Vista Business on my Sony Vaio VGN-C1S and had a few problems installing all the updates. I managed to update everything quite easily but took a day or two finding the right updates as Sony are terrible.
I have put together a Zip file that can be downloaded and easily installed that contains all the drivers, software and updates that can be installed in order to get the brightness working on your Sony Vaio laptop with Microsoft Windows Vista installed.
Grab the file here (16MB).
Let me know which laptops work and which laptops don’t.

Thank you so much! I have tried many sites, and spent hours looking for fixes. Tired the official sony site, several installer files (including the libs, utilities, even service, etc)… none of them worked. Thanks to you, I got my Fn keys to work in Vista on my FE920.
Thanks again!!!

I just went here: http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/updates/updates.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons, selected my model and downloaded the nVidia Video driver at the bottom of the page (50MB). After installation restart, brightness button functionality returned.
Hope this helps.
